In my opinion Master of “Physic & Nanomaterials” is the best choice if you are interested in physics and you want to learn more about nanomaterials, methods of investigation nano-scale objects and their applications in science. The knowledge gained during this study is useful in my research work concerning luminescence investigations of hybrid materials. I recommend this study.

I was a student of 1st and 2nd degree studies at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa. In 2006, I began Bachelor studies on specialization Medical Physics. During these studies I had an opportunity for apprenticeship in hospital settings. In 2009, I began master studies, organized in cooperation between Jan Dlugosz University and University du Maine in Le Mans (France), which enabled me to obtain a master's degree in physics granted by Polish and French university. The possibility to visit foreign university allowed me to get new knowledge and skills and gave me a great experience in the field of modern physics. Furthermore, I had a great opportunity to improve my language. Also I could meet new culture and many interesting people. Thanks to these studies I decided to continue my education after graduation in PhD studies. Since October 2011, I have been a student of 3rd degree study.

Studies on "Physics & Nanomaterials" made me realize that not only physics consists of theoretical rules and principles, but it also gives unlimited possibilities for its application to many other fields of science. During my two visits to the University of Le Mans, I had the opportunity to learn about various research techniques, such as X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR). This, in turn, enabled my current PhD studies - forming and investigtion of diamond layers with Chemical Vapour Deposition - to be easier and to proceed faster. I now have the possibility to use the above techniques, along with Atomic Force Microscope (AFM), Scanning Electon Microscope (SEM) and thermoluminescence (TL), in practical applications. In the future I would like to work in a place I could continue my current research and use it to solve real-world problems.

I started my adventure with physics in 2006, when I began my Bachelor studies at Jan Długosz University in Częstochowa on specialization Medical Physics. After that, thanks to the international cooperation, I had the opportunity to graduate with Master’s degree with double Polish-French diploma in the field of nanoscience and nanomaterials. This international education gave me ability to develop my skills and knowledge as an experimental physicist, meet new fantastic people and improve my English language. What is the most important, working in an international environment provided me with a relatively smooth start in my future career on Aalto Univeristy in Finland. As opposed to my previous experience, here, I am working more theoretically, doing atomistic simulations. Before starting doctoral studies I did a 1-year internship in Provincial Specialist Hospital in Częstochowa as a medical physicist. Physics is not just a science, it is the beauty of the surrounding world and eternal breaking the limits of human imagination.

Joint Polish-French master studies on „Physics and Nanomaterials” gave me a great opportunity to study one of the most interesting and popular domains in modern physics. Both theoretical and practical classes were presented in and attractive and transparent form. Two visits at the foreign University in Le Mans gave me a great experience in theoretical and expreimental physics, and also allowed me to meet new culture, friends and teachers. It is also important to remark that these studies reinforced my decision to continue my education after graduation in an PhD program, and helped me to receive the scholarship from the French Government (BGF) for this purpose.

I think that the Master of “Physics & Nanomaterials” is apprppriate for professional activity and for the preparation of PhD thesis. You can get new knowledge and skills that you can utilize. You can meet new and interesting people. You can also see many interesting places and learn their culture. First of all you can to develop your interests and by the way you can enhance your language. I think that is a great solution. I recommend it.

In my opinion the master of “Physics & Nanomaterials” is a good way to start making a scientific career, because there is so much to discover in this specialization. Thanks to this education I have an opportunity to receive the doctor’s degree. Since I just go ahead, till now I do not know exactly the thesis subject.
